Maintain good oral hygiene at home

While we must continue hand-washing, many underestimate the mouth as vital to preventing the spread of bacteria. As your body's main immuno-gatekeeper, the mouth restricts the entry of harmful bacteria that impacts our digestive and respiratory systems.

Now is a great time to up your at-home dental hygiene game so your teeth are clean and healthy.

Here are some tips:

Step 1: Brush your teeth for at least two minutes, making sure to brush along the gum line. Set a timer on your phone.

Step 2: Use a tongue scraper to thoroughly and gently clean your tongue. If you don’t have a tongue scraper, you can use your toothbrush, but a tongue scraper is ideal. Fresh breath, here we come!

Step 3: Clean between the teeth by using string floss or a water flosser.

Step 4: Rinse your entire mouth with mouthwash.

Step 5: Change your toothbrush every three to four months
